Preparing 65 Selected Ambassador For STEM Summer Camp

65 girls have been selected for the S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) summer camp program. The application was opened for 3 weeks and we received a total number of 242 applications from 79 localities in Moldova. We are welcoming prospective ambassadors from Bender and Dubasari, who will form GirlsGoIT local clubs in their region after the summer camp. We also received applicatios from Romania. GirlsGoIT summer camp program has prepared a full 10-day experiential learning and access for the 65-selected ambassadors to connect with leading IT companies in Moldova, acquire the future of jobs and work skills on 3D printing, Robotics, and Web Development and become a role model to their peers when they return to their communities.

DAS solutions is providing an internship for two girls to support young women career in Moldova's Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector. The internship will be awarded at the summer camp closing ceremony on the 29th of July.

An excursion visit to leading IT companies in Moldova has been planned for 65 ambassadors. The companies are DAS Solutions, Endava, Moldcell and the established ICT Excellence Center “Tekwill”.

We have also prepared a special event for the parents of the selected 65-ambassadors, to meet with the program partners and current GirlsGoIT ambassadors. The meeting will take place on July 15th at the Hasdeu Library in Chisinau. Special thanks to the Austrian Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection, Novateca: The Global Library Program, B.P. Hasdeu Library in Chisinau and Floare de Cires for supporting special occasion for parents.

The summer camp workshop is jointly implemented by the Technical University Moldova (UTM) and Atelier99.
