Hi! My name is Paula Popescu, I'm 19 years old and I'm a first year student at the Technical University of Moldova, specialty Software Engineering. I spend my free time in front of my laptop and I get involved in different charitable activities, being a volunteer at the Orphanages Centre.
I have chosen FAF, because all the objects are taught in English. FAF focuses on real objects and we can't choose optional subjects. I'm happy to be part of the FAF community, because I'm learning from the best programmers. My dream is to become a good programmer, a thought that GirlsGoIT inspired me.
In 2017 I participated at the bootcamp, I found out what IT is and I became more curious to try this field. In the same year I participated in the Annual Forum, where I met many people interested in this field. In 2018 I participated at the Summer Camp STEM GirlsGoIT, the 3D Printing track. In the autumn of the same year we organized CodeWeek, and in spring I organized the bootcamp. At the 5th edition of the Summer Camp I learned what the Back-end is and what its role is. As a result of Summer Camp I was selected for an internship at Ellation, where I learned many useful things for the future, whether from programming or personal development.
Thinking about GirlsGoIT and the opportunities it offers, I want to be a mentor, motivating the girls to choose IT.
Yes, IT is for girls. Think that a woman - Ada Lovelave has been called the world's first computer programmer. At the same time, programming is not only about code, but it is also a way of interacting with people. So don't be afraid to create your own future.
